Parrots in flight over the reserve's tropical dry forest

Help us bring parrots and macaws back to the skies of the Caribbean

Your company can sustain the rehabilitation of hundreds of birds and the restoration of 500 hectares of tropical dry forest · about 1 hour from Cartagena de Indias.

The Corporate Partnerships program

Fundación Loros's Corporate Partnerships program lets your company turn its social and environmental investment into real, measurable conservation, with the goal of sustaining and expanding the operation of Colombia's only sanctuary specialized in parrots and macaws and restoring the tropical dry forest, through support for operating costs, infrastructure, planting and monitoring days, corporate volunteering and species sponsorship.

They support the sanctuary in a big way.

Right now, what we need most: allies who sustain the operation

Building aviaries and planting forest is visible and moving. But what keeps the sanctuary alive every day is the invisible part: feeding hundreds of birds, the veterinary clinic, and the salaries of the keepers who are with the animals from dawn to dusk.

It's the least flashy contribution and the most decisive. If your company can help us cover operating costs, that is, right now, the support we need most.

Where it all began

Fundación Loros started in 2019 with a single hand-raised parrot — Beethoven — in a Cartagena apartment: a syringe, a spoon, and the internet for a vet. From the day Alejandro took him in, the mission was never to keep him — it was to return him to the wild.

Alejandro hand-rearing Beethoven · Cartagena, 2019 — the foundation’s first parrot.

In 2022 the environmental authority granted our first rehabilitation permit; a few birds became dozens, and behind them the thousands seized across Colombia every year. We bought land, biologists and scientists joined, and what began in an apartment is now a 500-hectare reserve.

From one parrot to a reserve

What that one parrot set in motion: 500 hectares of protected dry forest, hundreds of birds in rehabilitation, and the daily work your company can help sustain.

Help protect and monitor 500 hectares of one of Colombia's most endangered ecosystems

Very little tropical dry forest remains in Colombia, and what survives is fragmented into isolated patches. Our reserve in Villanueva, Bolívar protects and restores 500 hectares of it: the home the parrots and macaws we rehabilitate return to. Your company can help protect and monitor it.

Want your company to be part of this?

We'll design a tailored partnership with you —from sustaining the operation to bringing your team to the reserve— with reports you can show.

What your company gets in return

A partnership with Fundación Loros is a relationship, not a transaction. Here's what we bring to the table:

  • ESG / impact reports. Traceable figures —geolocated trees, rehabilitated birds, hectares— ready for your sustainability report.
  • Recognition. Your brand on our site, on the partners wall and across our social media.
  • Immersive experiences. Reserve visits for your team, your executives or your clients.
  • A tax-deductible donation certificate, under Colombian regulation.
  • Naming. The chance to give your company's name to an aviary, a sector or a workday.
  • Co-created content. Photos, video and stories of the real impact for your own channels.
  • An annual impact report and a dedicated point of contact for your company.
